LAND BOARD.

A meeting of tho District Land Board was held yesterday, and waR attended by Messrs. James Mackenzie (Commissioner of Crown Lands), A. Eeese, C. J. Canton, and H., T.

Blake's application,'to be allowed to select an additional area of Crown land for a bettor fencing 'lino adjoining his section at Jlikimiki, the ranger recommended that a strip of land bo ofFeied at 20s. per acre, subj'ect to the, applicant paying cost of sun«y. The board agreed to carry out this recommendation. ' F. J. Eead, lessee of 112 aores in Dyer Settlement,\apphed for 12 months' exemption from residence, as ho had been burnt out. The board granted his request. - Miss H.
