DIOCESAN SYNOD.

' The Diocesan Synod will be opened in St. Paul's Schoolroom, Sydney Street, on Tuesday next; at 8 plm;, when the opening address will be delivered.? There will be Evensong, with oormon by the Eev. On Wednesday there, will, be a celebration of Holy Communion, at 8.30 a.m. : The following is the order paper for'Tues-days-President's address; reports (inoluding report of Home Mission Committee appointed at last session) to presented; appointment of Finance Committee; appointment of Reports , Committees; motions of ' which 1 notico hois been given. These motions are as follow:— By the Eev. G. :Y. Woodward:—" That this Synod recommend ; the establishment of a brotherhood, devoted to voluntary service, in this diocese, for the purpose of. coping_ with the three greatest needs or the day: (l).Eeligious education of tho young; (2) streot missions; (3) religious work among bodies of labouring men; and that a committee be appointed, to promote and carry into , effect the object of this institution;, such committee to consist of the Eight Rev., the ■ President, the Revs: C. C. Harper, J. Walker,... J. H. 1 Sykos, and the movor, with powo'r to add to their number."

By the Eev., C. C. Harper:—"That Resolution No. 2 be altered : to: read—' Marriage aolemniaed after license, 10s." ,
