ANNTJAL MEETING;
-The thirteenth annual meeting of< th« Vin. .tona Bowling , Club was. held. in. the club pavilion last evening, Mr.' F. Hueston. . ..." • Mr. IV Sitto moved that the entrance fee be increased to 215., and the annual subscription be increased to £2 105.,. including, rent of locker, , and that the membership be restricted to .100. The chairman pointed out that' the directors . had. thought the-matter.' outcarefully, and conadefed' the change was advisable. A limit had to bo placed on the membership to .prevent .mombers being compelled • to. stand on the bank. All the members joining * tho club now were playing. m'embers,-and. if ; the question was not faced at present it would have',to bo faced .at an early date. After some discussion the, motion was carried. " • Notices;of- motion were 'given by. Mr"'' ! Kon shaw and by Mr. Redstone, in tho direction of altering certain; rules of 'the'club. It was dccided to call a special meeting to'deal with the matters.'-,- — Mr: .Castle pointed 1 out that the Wednesday had not the opportnnity of playing in competitions the tho-Saturday, players, and he moved that competitions be arranged for.the Wednesday players. This was agreed ■ , ,■ . . : ■ , • Apropos of the; "open door" -policy, Mr Guise, urged the adoption of the Southern Bowling Association methods/ He moved that it .be an instruction to the Northern Bowling ciatjon to support any motion that has for its object allowing any club to enter any number of teams to take part in its tournaments. After a short discussion,'further, consideration of the motion was. left until, the special meeting of the;club to bs held in August. •. : Votes of thanks w,ere passed to Mr. W. J. Hueston, the retiring hon.' secretary, and to Mr. T. S. Mayer, the rotiring hon. treasurer. It was. pointed out that Mr. Hueston had held tho offtoo from 1896 to date, with tho exception of., one year. Mr. Mayer , had boon' treasurer for the past four years.- A' vote' of thanks was also passed to the directors,'and to the rotiring president. •
