A "WORD BY HON. D. BUDDO. .During the course of. a few remarks with reference to his.late visit to Canterbury, the Hon. D. Bnddo, Acting-Minister for Lands, told a reporter yesterday that the prospects in that part of Now Zealand, were generally considered to be good.- Ho went- on to say that the season had so far been exceptionally open. As a resalt, advantage had been taken of'tho opportunity to lay down large areas, in wheat. From what he could see, the area of that cereal in Canterbury this year would be considerably in excess of the area so laid down last season. With regard to the condition of stock, the prospects were also very •favourable. Owing to the open season, there bad been continued growth somewhat later than usual. Stock in nearly all cases looked .very well. There was, ho added, promise of an excellent: wool clip. . :
