WELLINGTON HARRIERS.
Tborndon Baths was tho starting-placo of tho Wellington Harriers last Saturday, when a pack, numbering twonty-nve, followed 'a trail laid by C. Rowherry, and AV. White. Tho hares gavo plenty of variety to the run, which included several swamps, and,a couple of water jumps. Tho trail led nearlyto Wadcstowu, then across to Crofton and Khandallah,' and back across tho hills overlooking Kanvarra to the Esplanado ,A '•run-ill/' which was held over a distance of about four hundred yards, resulted in" a win for H. J. Pollock, R. Bust being a good second, and H. A. Lamb third Nctt Satin day Jho third race will bo held for tho Palmer Cup, at Miramar, over a distance of threo miles. Over twenty entries havo beon received, and, given favourablo weather conditions a very interesting Taoo Bhould result. Mr. P. Drment, the present holder of the cup, is awny from town, but it is hoped that ho mil bo present to defend his title noxt Saturdny Onmg to the unfnvourablo weather, the mid-weekly run was not bold last Wednesday.
