Sir,—lf anybody sells any tobacco ; goods after 8 o'clock on week days it is-tho duty 6f the iuspector to sec that ho is summoned (but. they don't trouble), and if anybody sells them on, Sundays .it is the 'duty of the police bo seo that it is stoppeid. There'is in. this town a shopkeeper who has been summoned several times by the police for'trading in tobacco (cigarettes) qu Sundays, and each time only a small fine-is imposed on him,' and ho pay's the fine. Why don't the' . police ask■ , ■ the ..'. . .presiding magistrate to impose a heavy fine and give him a caution as it will make others more careful, too, instead of passing a small fine every timo ho comes before tho Court.—l am,.etc., • ''• --■ • \ ..-'■■ , ■ '.."
