NEW ZEALAND ALLIANCE.
At the. meeting, of the Executive of the New Zealand Allia'uce, held on Wednesday, the Rev. J. Dawson was formally .welcomed to his new position,.-as - secretary'of * the Alliance, and tho following officers were appointed for tho year: Chairman of the executivoj Rev! A. Dewdney, and treasurer, Mr. J. Brown. The executive endorsed the action of the annual meeting in 'releasing the Rev. IP. W. Isitt from th.fi secretaryship of the Allianco ,aud carried ilie"following resolution:— "Tho Bey. F. W. Isitt, having requested to be relieved of tho strenuous duties of secretary of tho Now Zealand'-'Alliance on the ground of.'failing health, and tho annual meeting having most regretfully,complied with his wish, the cxpculivp- hereby places on record its cordial appreciation of tho splendid service which Mr. Isitt has so long rendered to the No-License cause. To a lofty - moral enthusiasm has been united a kindliness of manner which has made it a pleasure to bo associated with him in temperance, work. Tho .executive rejoices, that Mr.'lsitt .has been spared to see such cheering signs of progress in connection with the cause to which ho has devoted so many strenuous years. While regretting the ne-cessity-that'compcls:him'to retire from the post ho has fdled so ably and so long, the cxecutivo is glad to know that Mr. Isitt will still continue as a valued.counwllor and co-worker in tho cause of moral reform."
The .executive entered its protest against tho establishment of a browery depot at Waihola, and expressed its groat delight at the utteraneo of Dr. Wilbnr' Ghqpnian concerning Prohibition in America. -.■•'■■!.
