Williamß, a prominent member of phe Napier Borangh Couiicil, who has returned from a visit to Australia, was interviewed yesterday by a "Daily Telegraph" reporter. Spooking of the Sydney theatres, which he iMpectod in view of the piWscd municipal theatre here, ho. said that he preferred the interior of the. Wellington Opera House to any of them. Ho paid particulars attention to His Majesty's, which was highly recommended by Mr. Bert Boyle in a conference with tha Napier Borough Council, but he considered that tho Wellington Opera House commands a better view of the stage than evon His Majesty's. Mr. Williams iirocecded from Sydney to "Melbourne by the overland, ronto and, in this connection, lie mentions n- pleasant conyenionco which lie thinks - that the Now Zealand Government should adopt on the Main Trunk line. This is an "observation" car,:.attached to tho train, whereby the cquntry can bo inspected as.easily,as from a coach. Tho.panoramic vie\y from the "observation" car entails an additional expenditure of 45., but affords a pleasant and instructive mothod of travelling.', It accommodates about 4Q passengers.
