As tha' latter were not favourably, disposed to the 6cheme, it was abandoned. • The committee ■ congratulated members upon , the attainment ,; of this :main object, the. institution of .an.... annual challenge cUp,'. coinpetition .'fftr 6ignal-;. ling, which should have a healthy influence on the training of the signalled. The financial statement showed ■ that- the receipts balanced the expenditure, there being to credit in", stamps, the eudi of 9d. sterling. .. , The report and balance-sheet were adopted. •. It was decided! (1) That-Sereeant-Major ; Browning -be the secretary for the ensuing . , ' vear; (2) that the executive ■ committee con- . sist of the sergeants of tho signalling equiuU and 'sections! (3) that Liout, Hulbert bo appointed vice-chairman. , Captain Duigan, in a brief address, urfed . .., the club to foster its aims,'and give proof of its utility by public demonstrations. All the battalion signallers should, he said, be paraded, / and a cou?se of .lectures arranged for clnb nights. Lieut. Hulbert was instructed to propare a draft syllabus of loctorcs.' ' ' ■ .
