HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A mooting,of the Hutt Borough Council wju> held last evening,, and attended by the Mayor (Mr. H. E. bunny), and Councillors Ulere, .Or. Anson, Kenipthoriie, Hayes, Barlow, M'Caakill, and Baldwin.' -
A statement of expenditure by the Hutt Distriot Licensing Committee was received from the Pctone Borough Council, claiming £U ISs.. sd.as the Hutt Borough's contribution. This was an increase of about JJB 18s. sd. ovel. the town clcrk'6 eetim&te. It was stated thtt the licensing fees which the Hutt Borough .received amounted to .£lB5. ■ s " The estimates for the coming year antic* pated that the receipts would amount to JE9777 14s. 3d., and the expenditure to XBMS. Thi» fortshadowod a dobtor balance at the end of the'year of J28683 2s. 9d., as against a debt of Jt6915 Us. Bd., ■ with whioh the year has boea begun. ,The general rate of 2d. in the £ on about :£m,m is estimated to yield .£8033 6s. Bd. The estimated expenditure included an item of Mb as half cost toward the Epuni Hamlet Eoad connection and other road dedications, etc., making •a. total 'of J8587 18a. ; street maintenance, 2s. 6d.; tarring-foot-paths, £m> pipe and traffic bridge contribution, j≥325; sanitary depot, .£859 lGs.j waterworks, £322; recreation ground ninhitononce, JCISS lt)k; firo brigado, £$t 13s. 4d.; street lighting, JE3J2 10s. JJIS; bank interest and charges, .£315. The council received the following letter, addressed to the town clerk, from the secretary o£ tho Wellington Rugby Union (Mr. W.
