[The tragedy pcourrod in Hobart on the night of April, 7. Advices from Eobatt state: The young couple, were affectionately attached to each other, and had been engaged for 6ome time, but opposition ''was met with to their marriage: The girl,'in a fit •of .despair, took stryohnino, and admitted the fact to a policeman. She.was conveyed with all hasto to the gonoral hospital. Everything possible was done for tho unfortunate girl, but medical.aid was unavailing. ; On her lover, Attwell, learning of her death he was terribly distressed, and wade up: his wind to'die also. Ho oponly threatened to poison himself. Attwell •was:employed on the barge Eveline, lying at 1 the Market Wharf.
