BOXING WITHOUT A PERMIT.

In the cases in which Crawford, Healy, and others were, charged with engaging in a boxing contest,'for which a permit had not been obtained, the magistrate inflicted a fine of 55., remarking that tho contest appeared to have lx>en conducted in an orderly manner, and thoro was nothing objectionable, except that the promoter had failed to obtain the necessary permit. -~.''. Regarding the cases in which sixty persons wore charged with being yreKcat at the contest, the magistrate thinks it would bo impossible to inflict any punishment. Ho dismissed them under ihv provision of Seutiou 02 of the Justice* cf tho PeoooAct.
