I Tho Star of Newtown Lodge hold its weeldi. session in St. Thomas's Schoolroom on Wednesday evening, when an enjoyable evening was spent. An official visit was paid by the Kia Ora Lodge of Challenger, and also a visit from the District Lodgo executivo. The following resolution was moved by Bro, Greig, and carried unanimously:—"That this 1 meeting of the Star of Newtown Lodgo of tW International Order of Good Templars protests against the issuing* of licenses for the public sole of alcoholic liquors in the King Cottwttr, belioxing that the granting of such lieon-v.i to be against the best interests of tlw country, and an entire violation of the spirit and lotter of the treaty entered into with tho Maoris"
