HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS.
To-day, tho forty-second anniversary of the birth of the Prince of Wales, is a general holiday. The usual seasido resorts and suburban retreats are sure to be well patronised, and there will be sport of all kinds for those minded to attend. At Athletic Parle, at 3 p.m., the Rugby representative match between Wellington and Wanganui is to talro place, and is oxpectcd to prove an interesting contost. Tho wholesale and retail drapers will furnish a_ "curtain raiser." Two hockey representative. matches are to take place—one at tho Basin Reserve, between tho Wednesday Uana-w-otu team and Wellington, and tho other at Day's Bay between the Saturday representatives of Wellington and Alanawatu. Turfites will be ablo to choose between tho pony meeting at Mirainar, tho Otnki races at Otaki, and the South Wairarapa Trotting Club's meeting at Greytown. Tho Hutt Valley Coursing Club is to hold a meeting at Trenthum; The following entertainments are set down for the evening:—Opera Hoiiso, "In the Ranks"; Theatre Royal, Puller's Pictures and Cinephone; His Majesty's Theatre, Royal Pictures; Town Hall, Highland Rifles' Ball. .
