At the criminal sittings of tho Supremo Court to-day .Thomas O'Doruiell was scntoncod to ten years' imprisonment for assaulting a girl. Thomas Fairlie Morris was placed on probation' for twelve months for .theft. ' James Pollock ■'was sentenced to •twelve months' imprisonment for theft from the person; Thomas Hussey, to 18 months', imprisonment for assault and •robbery; John Edward Blonquist, to 18 months' imprisonment for stealing a bicycle; Robert Burgess and. Thomas M'Lcnnan, to three years each for robbery from the person; and ' Patrick Moriartv, t6 two years for assault.' Thomas M'Grath, for injuring cattle •by shooting at them' with a pea rifle; was. placed on. probation for two years, during which period ho was to remain in tho Salvation Army Honiu at Christchurch. Tho jury failed to agree in tho case of Ellen Marion Edwards, charged with brooking and ontor(ing.
