Preference to unionists is ono of the clauses of the award, which does not apply to hvtry-stable_ keepers, coach, 'bus, or cab 'proprietors, dairymen, or wagoners, nor to assistants who may bo employed occasionally as dnvors. Tho provisions of the award do not apply to any work done in connection with' contracts, entered into before tho hearing of the disnuto and uncompleted.' Tho award shall apply only to employers carrying on business within a radius of seven miles from tho chief post offices in Mnstertoii Wnngahui, Palmerston North, and: Levin. ■ Tho award shall operate from June 1, 1909 until April 5, 1011. ,
