Mail" Empire Bay Cup competition on May 25. Tho weather was not favourable for high scoring, in consoquonco of a wind which varied both in direction and strength,.and heavy showers fell during tho day. Tho very respectable total of 721 was compiled, » great improvement on last year s score, which barely averaged 80. Messrs J..\V.Murrar(member of tho Akitio Colintv Council) and Hercules Robinson, (county clerk") were tho independent umpires, tho former registering scores at the firing point and tho latter checking' tho marking at tho butts The individual scores were :—
. Tho next competition will bo held on ■Wednesday, Juno 2, for tho Club Cup, at 200, 500 and COO yards. ' '
