Mr. Browne: Yes, they-arc tho ownorß of tho Shamrock and the Thistle, two vessels generally employed in tendering' meat from the freezing-', works to vessels lying in the roadstead. They were occasionally dispatched to Puponga for coal for the works, but coal had been discharged into carts over the Wanganni Wharf for home consumption. This meant that tho vossols wero in competition with other carrying craft. ' . , Mr. W. A. W.Grcnfell intimated that Mr. Pryor, who was to have represented tlio company, was detained in New Plymouth, and would not bo in Wellington until evening. . Mr. Young said that tho only argument Mr. Pryor could adduce to the Court would bo that these vessels wero not employed in trado, and if this was to bo.his argument there was no necessity for an adjournment, because tho limitation of the aword provided that it should only apply In vessels actual!; cnjingcd in ' trado. 'I liorcfoic.. if tho Shamrock and Thistle • were not in competition with other vessels within the.meaning of the limitation, tho award did not apply to thorn. , ; The case was adjourned until this mora* ins at 10.80 o'clock.
