Nowman, A.B.'s, state, that, owing tea heavy sea,and a-strong wind, tho Tuhara anchored in, the: bight, or' Long Point on Saturday night. Early: on Sunday morning ono of tho anchors,; carried away. The engines wore -then kept going full speed: ahead,- but the .vessel dragged her remaining anchor, which was lost at daybreak, and the vessel was driven broadside'on to the rocks. Sho became fixed whoro she struck. The crew, whohad put on lifebelts, managed to launch the lifeboat, aud a lino was taken ashore. They stood by the ship for'a while, and thon-got their things and,wont to Mr. George Ormond's station, where they wore treated with groat kindness. ( Goodall and Newman describe the sea as mountainous, and say that the crew had a narrow escape. It was lucky for them that they were 'driven *shoro in daylight instead of during tho night. '
