Millar, Minister of Marine, said instructions liavo' been given that an inquiry should- bo hold, into the circumstances surrounding the reported overcrowding of tho steamer Cygnet , at Akaroa on Easter Moaday. _ "" The Minister for Railways, accompanied by Mr. Soddon, M.P., and Mri Murdoch M'Lcan, left Cnristchurch this morning for tho West Coast. The coach arrived at Boaley at 1.30. Rain was falling. The Minister inspected the Bealey end of tho tunnel, and proceeded to Otira, where ho will inspect tho tunnel works to-morrow..
