Zealand Amateur Athletic/Association was held on Monday night. / / .-:■;. ■'■.■'■ ,' The president (Mr. TV. G. Atack) reported that he hid accepted the resignation of.Mr. J. H. Aitken. as/from April 21, and his actibn/was.'coiflnned..'. The ex-secretary of the council' Was granted an honorarium of ten. .;. Miv'Batchelor moved ' and Mr.. .Mason Becouded, "That a majority of the centres having failed to reply to the.oirculnr letter of April. 20, this\ council .--resolves, to'-hand over to the' newly-appointed president of the New Zealand Aniateur Athletic Association (Dr. Newman) all the books:and papers, \and the balance of_ the funds held 'by.the association, together, with a certified balance : sheet, upon the. .receipt.- of. -a letter _ the members of this council against any liability in connection with -the association, and that Mr.- Ataok,.bo. authorised'to' take the .necessary steps to, carry this out." , The motion ; was;agreed to.;una : nimqusly.-". ■■ ,'■ . : ■ .Mr. Hoare spoke in eulogistic tenrisof-the sorvices. rendered by Mr. Atack'•• in the _in•terests of amateur, sport in.the Dominion. A lthough heV (the, speaker) differed from Mr. Atack on one or- two .-points,-'-ho considered that : liad ! dono .a tremendous amount for.amateur sport in.New Zealand.
