At a meeting of -the local-branch of the .Farmers' Union, : held on ' Saturday ' night, it was resolved that the' branch approve of tho Lands for- Settlement.-Finance Bill as announced in Sir Joseph Ward's speech, and that the union forward a remit to the Provincial Conference, asking them to give this Bill every support. . , . - - Mr. T. Arthur; Traffic Superintendent of tho New Zealand; Kailways, states that the plans of tho new Railway Station are practically completed. 1 The new station will be shifted further north-, towards Tpmoana, so as to relievo the'idcretaunga.Street railway crossing of the shunting operations,', which at present form such a'source of annoyance and delay to.the public. Tho present goodsshed will be brought up to the St. , Auburn Street, crossing. It has not-yet been finally decided ,whether the 'cattle yards; will bo placed north or south of their present position. .'

Society's Spring Show, owing to tho present train arrangement, Mr. Arthur has , decided'to run. a special train from Feilding to Palrnerston' North,' leaving at 7.10 a.m. to connect with the 8.15 train from i'almerston North to .\Vaipukurau, afld ,thence;.a special. train'from Waipukuran. to Hastings, - arriving, iat -5. p.m., ' alwayd provided 1 that, there -is 'not-less than eight jvaggons from Fcilding, tho stock .from Palmerston, Waipukurau, and : ' intermediate, .stations, and from.the AVairarapa; to go.by the same train.'. ; ;., ■ . •• ....
