Miss who is- a very quiet .| and impressive speaker, with clear enunciation and th'o power, of telling a story 1 vividly without I undue ■< emphasis or.'. exaggeration, took as her text the seven last -sayings of Jesus Christ.^, Sho told, in simple and. impressive language, the Btory of the Crucifixion, and closed her address,: with: a personal appeal to her hearers.';' There -.was little in the sermon of direct reference.' to her own story, though/she did- remind 1 her audience ' that the step she 1 , had ..taken in severing herself from,the life of the stage ■■ proved low earnestly.she herself believed the message whioh she felt it was her duty .to deliver to them.
