Upon the. application of the inspector of awards an interpretation has been given of Clause 20 of the Now Zealand Federated Tailoresscs' award, which reads as under:— "Chart orders may be tried on, before or after completion, within any factory that manufactures in the wholesale way for any bona fide town or country agent, who indicates, by door sign, window sign, or other public notification, that he sells factory-made chart order garments-to the public." The questions asked were as follow:—(a) Can a manufacturer, under this award, take a factory order himself, or must' such order be received through a bona fide.town or country agent? (b) If such order can be taken by such manufacturer, then can a try-on be given outside the factory—for instance, in a shop used for the purpose of taking these orders, and separate, and apart from tho factory. The Court's answer is as under:—"A manufacturer is not entitled to have a try-on in connection with a chart order taken by himself. He is only entitled to have a try-on in connection with an order , obtained by a bona fide town or country agent for whom he manufactures in a wholesale way, and when such agent indicates in the manner specified in the award that he sells factory-made chart-order garments to the public. The try-on must tako place in the factory' where the garment is made." i
