WANDS FOR WALKING.
In Paris, mondaines are buying sticks— long ones; of substantial build and very elegant devices —with which to. walk. - There are white enamelled-wands, figured with gold ropousse, and coloured enamels are also used ; polished ash sticks, with heavy silver mounts, and ebony w.auds, encrusted at the top with simili diamonds, like flakes of snow sparkling in the- sun, or with enormous gold "caps, are exceedingly handsome When in frivolous mood, tho Parisienno bunches flowers on tho stick, and ties them in their place with wido ribbon's, thus imitating the freaks of tho dandies-of long past times, and the prettv fancy of tho mountaineor, who brings edelweiss down from tho heights tied to his alpenstock. Wo are (says an English paper) promised the revival of the. empire wand at fashionablo weddings, in place of the bouquet carried by bridesmaids. ■
