"MARRIED BABIES."
APPLY FOE A SEPARATION ORDER. A yery unusual case was before 3lr. Plowden at the Marylobone Police Court recently, in which Alice Packor, of Litcham Street, Kentish Town, summoned her husband, Timothy Packer, of Weedingtori Road, Kentish _ Town, for deserting her. When the parties came forward in Court Mr. Plowdon expressed himself astonished l at the youth of such a couplo, and asked how old they: were. .The girl said she was 18, and the hoy that he was 16. ■ . : How came you to separate? —The girl said they had a tiff about some money. ■ Mr. Jones: These children onght never to have been .married. . Plowden: I agree. But on no ground snail I grant, them a separation. I shall adjourn the'case for these children to cometo their senses. • • . "When the caso next came before the Court Air. Jones, said no arrangement had'.been pome to and that the girl still asked for an order, //Mr. Plowden: Sixteen years of ago!—married l—asks for a separation I Why, they are ' both babies. When they are weaned I will grant them a separation, U .Jones: I hope you will point cmt ; to the defendant that if., he does not-support his wife she will have to go to the workhouse, and the guardians will then proceed against Mr. Plowden (to the boy): Are you prepajed to support your wife P i Defendant (bluntly): No. . The girl added that she had asked hor husband to return to her, and ho had refused to do so. I .' Mr. .Plowden:,Do you want to go back to live with him r The Girl: Yes, I do. . Boy: I've not got a home to take 1 hor Mr. Plowden Warned tho defendant that if a _ separation were i granted ho would bo ordered _to pay his wife an allowance,. and if He-failed m that he would go to prison. Ho ■5 1 ®?,. the case, ahd hoped tho good offices of tho parties on both sides! would bo used to bring about a reconciliation
