The marriage ,of Miss Eva Christina Bassett, third daughter of Mr. Thomas Bassett, late'of Petone, to' Mr. James D. Ashdown, son of the late Mr. J. D. Ashdown, of Toraivkiti, took place on Wednesday at the house of the bride's parents at Maranui, the Rov. J. J. Franklin officiating. The bride wore a pretty frock of cream silk .voile," with wreath and veil,' and she carried a shower, bouquet. The three littlo bridesmaids, nieces of tho 'bride and bridegroom, were dressed in cream silk drosses with pretty blue bonnets and sashes to match, each carrying a basket oU cosmos: Mr. Charles Bassett, brother of tho .bride, was best man. The Methodist Church, Carterton, was tho 6oeno of a picturesque wedding on Thursday afternoon (writes our correspondent), nhon Miss Cassie Fcnsham, eldest daughter of Mr. John Fensham, of Surrey Holme, Car- - terton, was married to Mr. Wilfrid Russell York, eldest son of Mr. W.
