At tho City Police Court this morning Amy 1 Bock stepped into tho dockrto nnsfrer tlio charge that she did, on January 6, obtain £30 from Arthur Ellis by means of falso pretences. Chief Detectivo Herbert explained that the ' offence '.vas committed somo mouths back, i, and immediately afterwards accused disappeared. Nothing was heard of hor by tho police until last Saturday, whon Detective Hunt proceeded to Tho Nuggets and arrested her there in nialo ftttiro, and passing as Percy Carol Redwood. From inquiries that had been made, tho police had reason to believo ' that there would bo other charges of falso pretences, and in order to complete those mqunies ho asked foi a remand. The magistrate (Mr. Widdowson) remanded accused until Monday, and lemaiked that if that was too short tho pohco could get further remand. ' To Accused.
