TEACHERS' SUPERANNUATION.
;.; ' v ; . ■■■■■■ The quarterly meeting.' of ' tlio Teachers' Superannuation Board was held last week, the Hon. G. Fowlds, Minister for Education, presiding. ' There were also present:—Messrs. W. T. .Grundy., and Win. Fostej' (North Island teachers!: • representatives), G. Hogben (Inspec-tor-General of Schools), 11. J. Collins (Secretary to the Treasury), J. W. Poynton (Ptiblic Trus- • tee), and Dr. Fitchett (Solicitor-General). The South Island teachers' representatives were unable to attend, in consequence of the 'breakdown of the Mararoa. ...' . Nine ordinary pensions, two allowances to widows of deceased contributors and a number of ' payments of ss. weekly to children of deceased contributors, wero authorised. Threo contributors . were granted permission to retire under the, age-limit l in terms of Section 12 of .'the new Act, which,gives tho. Minister authority to allow such retirements under special'conditions, as stated some time ago in a Departmental circular published in The ' Dominion at tho time.
