THE DAIRY REGULATIONS.
A Press . Association message states that a' well-attended meeting of dairy farmers at f Oamaru on Saturday ; adopted. the following resolution—^'That, the' proposed new: dairy regulations are harsli and unnecessary and calculated to destroy ,th 6 ■ dairying industry .—one of the miost. valuable industries in the Dominion:; , This ineeting feels well assured, ■that if . the regulations are ..'enforced ai'-largo 'proportion of dairy farmers must be driven out of the industry by reason of tho cost and> the arbitrary conditions, with the result-that sufficient suppliers will not be left to maintain' the creameries in operation.'; This meet'DS .therefore ' urges' that the proposed regulations be,-'withdrawn, and a simple ; ;;code : adopted, providing ; for milking being done and milk conveyed to the factories ' under clean and healthy conditions." Resolutions^wore.also passed condemnatory of the. conditions under. which milk, 1 cream, andother produco are railed to'the market.
