(DT TELEGKAI'n—I'UKSS I ASSOCIATION.) Christchurch, April 21. At Addington yards there was' a large entry of all classes of stock. 'Fat cattle showed a further fall' in prices. Fat lambs were firmer. Store sheep showed no change. Fat sheep opened at last week's rates. Baconers and store pigs were in good demand, and porkers were easier, but: closed a. little firmer... Store and dairy cattle sold well. The yarding of store sheep .was smaller than last week, and the sheep were generally of'a better class. A large portion was formed of ewes, and among the lambs was a line of 350 merinos. There was a good attendance ofbuyers, and, though the-demand was better, prices showed practically no changes. Nearly all lines of ewes found purchasers at-late rates, while lambs met with better inquiry. Several; lots of very forward lambs changed j hands at lis. Gd. to 125., prices being an advance in sympathy with fat lamb rates. Wethors could only be sold'at low rates, forward sorts making 9s. to 9s. Gd. The yarding of fat lambs totalled 6780, as against 4350 last week and 7300 the week before. For quality, the yarding was one of tho best of the season, and though prices were firmer by Gd. to 9d. per head, it was principally due to improvement in the lambs themselves. All export buyers were operating, and' the keenness of "demand was shown by the fact that 113 lots were put through in 115 minutes. There -we're 6337. taken for freezing at lis. :4d. to 15s. (and one shorn line at lis. to 12s. 9d), 238. by butchers at. lis; 7d. to 15s. 2d., and 207 were bought by graziers. There was a large yarding.of fat sheep, including sumo prime lines of wethers. . The market opened at, last week's prices, export buyers not operating in tho early part of the sale. Exporters afterwards operated freely in wethers. Extra prime wethers, to 205.; prime, 14s. Gd. to 17s.j prime ewes,. 12s. 6d. to 15s. 5d.; medium, 10s. to lis. Gd.;, aged and light, 7s. to 9s. Gd. The entry of fat cattle totalled 350 head, -and included a number of very prime steers and heifers. The sale, was, very dull and dragging, and prices showed a further fall on the week. Steers made £5 17s. Gd. to ,£ll ; heifers, .C 4 7s. Gd. to £8 12s. 6d.; and cows, £i ss. to £1, equal to 18s. Gd. to 20s. for prime, 16s. to-.lSs. for medium, and lis. to 15s.
