A few days before the Easter holidays tho streams were in good order, and sport was fairly certain. A delugo came, however, and put the rivers in high flood, and the worm fishermen were the only ones to secure sport. In tho Hutt Kivor, near Bolmont, ono angler secured fivo fish on worm, tho largest being &}lb,, and a bag of seven was grassed near Silverstream, tho total weight being'OJlb. ..Makara and South Karori streams wore exceptionally high flood last week-end. An angler, lvho bra\ed the elements' and journeyed to boch places, did not even have the satisfaction of putting his rod together. A later visit, on Tuesday, to the ■ Makara: Stream ;was attended with more success. In all, elevon fish, averaging slightly over a pound each, were caught, and on tho following day, at South Karori, the limit.was reached in three hours.
