PREFERENCE TO UNIONISTS.

0 THE,ARBITRATION COURT AND THE EMPLOYERS. At a meeting of the "Wellington Employers' Association last night, over which Mr. W. Hopkirk presided, the following motions were unanimously carried: "Tho Wellington Employers' Association in general meeting assembled, heartily approves of tho resolution recently passed by tho New Zealand Employers' Federation Advisory Board with reference to the question of preference to, unionists, and records the determination'.'of those present at this meeting to resist'any attempt to curtail their right of free selection ,of their workmen." "This meeting declines to accept the dictum of the-Arbitration Court.that employers should refuse to engage workers unless iney become members of unions, as such action • would be subversive v of the right of every man to earn a living at his chosen calling, and would amount to.coercing workors into unions in, which they may have no confidence or to which they are'opposed."
