'".-SUBURBAN CHARGES. : The Wellington Presbytery met yesterday the Moderator, tho Rev. Dr. Gibb, presiding. ' ■ ii Tho Rev. W. J. C'onirio presented a report prepared by. a special committee recommending separation lit tho Wadestown division of the Onslow charge, and tho appointment of J!r. 11. E.i.Utitlcdgo as homo missionary in charge of it, at a salary of £100 a year, under tho session of St. Andrew's, with tho Rev. J. Gibson Smith as moderator. It was stated that' nil three divisions of tho Onslow charge were agreeable to the change, and that an application would.bo made for £25 towards tho i cost from tkoMiomo missions fund. '■

After soino discussion on tho probabla financial consequences ef the proposal, it waa agreed, on Mr: Conine's motion: "That tho report .submitted be adopted; that Wadestown bo constituted ia mission station, to bo placed provisionally under tho. caro of St. Andrew's session (Rev. J. G. Smith, moderator), and that as there are two elders in Wadestown nt; the present time, St. Andrew's be aslfcd'to take steps to givo then) a permanent session for Wadestown, and that the Homo Missions Committee bo asked to mako a yearly grant of £25 to Wadestown." It was reported' that Presbyterians at Kolbiirne were likely to raise the necessary £200 a year for of a minister in that locality, and that a monetary grant from the Church, authorities was not likely to bo needed. Satisfaction was expressed at this position, and a resolution was passed in accordance with a petition received: "That Kclbunie preaching station, be raised to tho status of a fully sanctioned charge, and that a provisional session bo appointed, in order that a communion' roll be prepared and a regular session appointed." The Rev. W. J. Comrio reported that collections of Wellington Presbyterian congregations towards tho"'"Bread Fund" for tho relief of British unemployed totalled £-10 Bs. Id Further subscriptions were received from Waihi (£4 10s.) and Dannevirke (£6 IGs- Gd.). '-.. „ , _ On the recommendation- of tho Evangelistic Committee, the Presbytery adjourned its ordinary business and 'constituted itself a prayer meeting from ll'.-lo a.m. till 1 p.m. The Evangelistic Committee recommended that ministers should make their own arrangements for conducting", evangelistic missions, as services so arranged were likely to lie more successful .than those conducted at tho instigation of the committee. In. tho afternoon, plans for a new manse at Fealherston were approved, Tho appointment of Mr. Coates as home missionary, with charge of Upper Ihitt, was recommended by the Home Missions Committee. It was decided to ask,the commit, teo on the Training of Home Missionaries to endorse the appointment. Similar recommendations wore made in regard to Mr. F. H. Bailey (Mororo and Xuh.-.ka, Xapior), and Mr. j. T. Pratley (IViono).
