LAWN TENNIS.

PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. A few competitors with rackets and a largo number minus that useful implement rolled up at the Brougham Hill courts on Saturday afternoon. Consequently, of nine possible matches, which could have been arranged out of tlioso present, seven were decided. The only s3iiior event was tho Ladies' Singles, Mrs. Cioldie v. .Miss Simpson, and a really fine game it was. The Brougham Hill lady only got ono game in the first set, but made 'the paco in the last two, winning the second G—2, and leading I—l in the final. Miss Simpson made a great finish of it, evened at "four all," but lost tho very important ninth gamo after' deuce had been called several times. Her opponent then led 40-lovc in the next game, won it ami set G—4. Mrs. Goldie is now in tlio semi-final, and meets Miss Nunneley. Results;— SENIOR LADIES' SINGLES. Second Round —Mrs. Goidio v.
