ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A FATAL FALL (BY TKI.EGItAi'H—I'IIESS ASSOCIATION'.) Dunodln, 'April 10. William Harkin, a well-dressed man, fell or threw himself oyer the face of Logan Point Quarry this forenoon, and was fatallj injured. 'Ho died in tho hospital shortly after his admittance, without regaining consciousness. A younp man who was at a boatshed in the vicinity heard a cry from the quarry. Oil looking there, ho saw something tumbling down the rocky face. He and another man hurried to the quarry and found tho unfortunate tr.an unconscious, hit head being badly injured. Ho was twentyeight years of age, and was married. The policc have been infirmed that deceased recently caine from Auckland, and was living with his wife's parents in Duncdin. EFFECT OF DEPRESSION. Nelson, April 11. At tho inquest on A. A. Daly, who'died yesterday from gunshot wounds, the verdict was suicide whilo temporarily insane. Tho evidence showed that Daly had been greatly depressed since a boating accident some months ago in which his companion lost his lifo. DRAG FALLS OVER AN EMBANKMENT. Mr. Arthur Devery, an old settler, died as the result of a fall from a horse. His wife prcdeceascd him by a few weeks.
