An industrial school child named James Stacker, eighteen months old, who was boarded out with Mrs. Fleming, at Waikouaiti, fell into a bucket of boiling water last night, and succumbed to his injuries. A VETERAN'S SAD END. Duncdin, April 7. Last night, a four-roomed cottage, owned and occipied by Thomas Rattigun, Waikbuaiti, was burned down. The- remains of Rattigan were found in the debris, llattigan, who was the solo occupant of the- house at the time, was a Maori war veteran.
