WELLINGTON HOSPITAL.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES. The fortnightly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Wellington Hospital was held yesterday, there being present: The Hon. C. M. Luke (chairman), Messrs. W. H. Hales, J. Rod, A. Smith, R. C. Kirk, J. >V. M'Ewan, G. London, and G. Nash. The fortnightly statement of finances shoved that a balance of J!1219 13s. 3d. had been carried forward from the previous statement, and that from rents, J&l 3s. lid.; outpatients, ,£l7 7e.; in-patients, X 126 2s. 7d.; District Hospital Board, £4oS 6s. Bd.; contributions, M 19s. 4d.; sundries, £2. 75.; totalled, on the credit side, .£1913 ss. 9d. Against that were various amounts on the expenses side totalling ,£738 17s. Id., the balance to carry forward being therefore Ss. Bd. A comparative statement submitted.showed that the receipts from out-patients, M 7 75., exceeded those of the previous fortnight by 10s.; the figures for thfc corresponding period of ICOS were ,El 2 4s. Receipts from in-patients showed an increase from .£lO7 18s. 2d. to =£126 2s. 7d.; for 1803. the total was £137 Is. sd. On the recommendation of the House Committee it was decided thnt Dr. M'Lean's request for leave of absence from- his duties as honorary surgeon to the hospital, in view of a contemplated trip to England at Easter, be granted; that Dr. Herbert be requested to rake the position at present held by Dr. II Lean as honorary surgeon; that Dr. Gilray -bo •_ requested to take Dr. Herbert's present \position as honorary physician; thnt leave of absence from duty for two months be granted to.the matron, the assistant matron to carry on the matron's Unties; that Dr. Simpson be granted leave of absence on holiday as from April 14; and Hint alterations to the ventilation of the sterilising room, and repairs to the ceiling of the Nurses' Home be elTected.
