Yesterday morning the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Euapehu, which arrived in the stream on Monday night from London, was berthed at No. 1 South, Queen's Wharf. She left London on February 18, and Plymouth two days later. On the run to Toneriffo moderate south-east winds and line weather were experienced till arrival there on February 25. After five hours' stay she resumed the voyage to Cnpe Town the same day, light to moderate S.E. and N.E. trades with slight sea being encountered. She arrived at the Capo on March 12, and left the same day for Hobart. The winds on this stage of the journey were from the north and north-west, consequently a good deal of wet weather was encountered. Arriving at Hobart at 8.50 p.m. on March 31, the last stage of the voyage was commenced on April 1. In crossing the Tasman Sea the big steamer encountered north-westerly winds and seas. Union Company's advices received from the West Coast yesterday report that the Arahura was still outside Greymouth, being detained there by the heavy sea running on the bar. The I'ohcrua was inside the Westport bar unable to leave for Wellington. THE CLAN OfiILVY. Cabled advice has been received by Mr. G. 11. Scales that his chartered steamer Clan Ogilvy sailed from Edithburg on Sunday morning for New Zealand, via Port Kenibla. The vessel will call first at Timaru, where she is duo on April 13. ARRIVAL OF TUB IiANAPOTJUI. At half-past ten yesterday morning the Union Company s steamer Mar.apouri arrived from Papeete (Tahiti) and Itarotonga. Pratique was granted, and she berthed at tho Queen's Wharf. She left Wellington on March 16, and for the following four days fresh to strong head winds, with rough seas, were encountered. Conditions moderated on March 20, and thence fresh to moderate beam winds fS.E.) and sea lasted till arrival at liarotonga on March 22 at 7.55 a.m. Mails and cargo wore landed, and departure was taken n.t 2.33 p.m. tho same day. On the voyage to Papeete light north-west winds and smooth seas were, met with until arrival at 5.35 p.m. or. March 24. Here mails and passengers were exchanged with the b.s. Mariposa, which left Papeete for San Francisco at 11 a.m. on March 26. On the same day the Mnnnunnri l» f t again for liarotonga, meeting with light N.W. winds, with smooth sea and rainy wether, until arrival at 4.48 p.m. on March 28. Fruit was shipped, and the vessel left for Wellington the following evening. Variable winds and weather, with a moderate head swell, lasted till Saturday last, thence a moderate N.W. wind and sea till arrival. Imports brought- by the Manapouri include tho following items:—49o9 cases bananas, 38 kits bananas,-2078 cases oranges, 2 packages old copper, 3 bales fungus, 38 safcks beche de mer, 1 package sharks' fir.s. 5 packaees oil. 13 cases sundries, 16 cases vinilla, 1 case curios. Last night tho vessel left for Dunedin with cargo and passengers transhipped from the Waikare. which vessel is assisting in tho Welling-ton-Lvttelton' Forvice in order to copo with the Easter traffic. I The Himitangi has boon liar-bound at Greymouth since last Saturday. Tho Poheriia was expected to leave Westport for Wellington last night. Tho Koonya leaves Wellington to-day at noon for Now Plymouth, Westport, and Greymouth. It is expected that the Flora will leave Auck land to-day for Wellington, via East Coast ports. Rarotonga advices to hand by the Manapouri report that the schooner Vaile, Captain Tom. Harris, was in port there for overhaul, etc., on March 26. ■ Captain Dawson joined the Manapouri as master yesterday, vice Captain SWcns, who proceeds north to join tho Hauroto at Auckland. Being unable to land stores, etc., at Farewell Spit yesterday, the Hinemoa proceeded to Westport. She will probably arrive back in Wellington on Friday. Advice from tho Union Company ie to the effect that the Takapuna, which is due early to-day from Now Plymouth, will return again this afternoon in place of the lloloiti, the latter steamer being detained to carry out tho Arahura's running should that vessel bo detained on tho West Coast.
