A GREAT BOYS' CAMP. A interesting spectacle was witnessed last evening in Upper Willis Street, when 150 boys belonging to the junior branch of tko Y.M.C.A brought their bundles or rugs, which to-day will be forwarded to Otaki, whero tho forthcoming boys' camp is to bo pitched on the old racecourse. Tho association regards -its work among young boys as fundamental. To touch and influence tho boy in tho adolescent period is essential, for the association hold tltat "tho mui problem is tho boy problem grown up." iTho purpose of the camp is to give boys four days of outdoor life, in which all the activities will tend towards " character building." Tlio camp will be under the supervision of a strong committee of seniors, with Mr. W. Eglin as chairman, Hr. H. Johnson as vice-chairman, Mr. Geo. Adair as secretary. No boy is kept from going by reason of tho expense, as juniors arc charged only -Is. Gd. and intermediates 6s. Cd. With this sum tho committee pay all fares, and feed tho boys for four days. Tho lads will bo divided among tents, and tho tents' championship is a coveted honour, carrying with it a banner presented by Mrs. J. H. Williams, of Hobson Street. A great united sorvico will be conducted in tho Otalri Town Hall on Sunday night by tho general secretary (Mr. 11. N. Holmes). Ninety boys leave the city on Thursday evening, and the remainder will travel on Friday moniing. The camp will bo the largest ever held under the auspices of tho Y.M.C.A. in Australasia.
