THE FREEZINC WORKS PROPOSAL.
The Wa'irarapa proposition of establishing a co-operative freezing works was discussed at a meetinE of farmers held under the auspices of the Fcilding branch of the Farmers' Union. A telegram was" received from the Foxton Harbour Board statins that it would provide a site at the Manawatu Heads, if desirable, and assist the movement in every possible way. Messrs. H. J. Booth, 0. M'Elroy and J. Morrison were deputed to confer with the promoters on the question. The delegates wero instructed to report that the meeting was not favourable to the proposal, unless the works were'erected at Foxton.
At tho annual meeting of the Palmerston .North branch-of the Farmers' Union a .. lengthy discussion took place on the question of establishment of farmers' freezing works, as suggested from the Wairarapa, and eventually Messrs. Balsillie and Wingate were authorised to attend the Woodville conference of delegates.
