» REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Wellington Hockov Referees Association was held last night at the office of the secretary (Mr. S. G. Nathan), there wero present: Messrs. W. J. Organ fin tho chair), Pope, K. C. Morpeth,, J. D. M'lntyro, H. J. Hunter, R. L. Jones, H. J. Bennett, Southwick, J. Boal, K. Cooke, W. Carver, the Rev. A. Dowdney, and tho secretary. The annual report and balance-sheet (already published) yero read and adopted. Mr. Isathan resigned tho secretaryship, and • Joues was appointed in his place. The resignation of Mr. H. H. Porter from tho association was received. Messrs. Organ, Morpeth, and tho secretary were elected to the Appointment Committee. It was decided to hold a conference between delegates from the local clubs and the association to discuss tho question of the shortage of referees. This deficiency will be acutely felt this season unless considerable additions aro made to the ranks of the association, as there aro now fourteen clubs and only nino referees available. Various rules were discussed for tho guidance of referees.
