FOUND IN THE HARBOUR. WORKLESS AND DESPONDENT. " : The body of an elderly man, S. Rogers, a tailor, was found in tho harbour at Karaka Bay yesterday morning, It appears that decoased had been out of work for somo timo past, and had boon very despondent in consequence. Ho left hiß Jodgmgs, 109 Dixon Street, at 9.30 on Monday morning, leaving a letter_ expressing tho intention' o? committing suicide Deceased, who was 58 years of ago, was a nativo of Edinburgh. An inquest will bo held at tho Morguo at 4.30 this afternoon. A PROSPECTOR DROWNED. (BT TKLEQBArH—rItESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, March 30. News was received from Fiji to-day that a young prospector, named Hindi, 'in attempting to cross tho Sigotoka River with a sack of specimen rock a few days ago, was drowned. Mr. Hindi was ono of a trio of prospecting Englishmen, who had been in Australia and Now Zealand, and it is believed tho Klondyko, before roaching Fiji. MYSTERIOUS. Chrlßtohuroh, March 30. Tho inquest concerning tho death of Andrew Douglas Hardio, 70 years of age, whoso body was found lying outsido his oottago at Dudley Creek last Sunday week, was resumed this afternoon, ; before Mr. H. W. Bishop, District Coroner, and a jury. Whew tho inquest opened last week, medical evidence was given to tho effect that tho old man's spino had been dislocated, and eight ribs in tho right side- of the body broken, ono •' of these penetrating tho lungs.. Tho injuries, ~ which might have been caused by. a blow on. ■; tho sido, woro all ante-mortem, and might havo been oaused bj; a motor-car striking the man's back and side. Jf bo struck, however, tho man would not havo been ablo to walk from tho sceno of tho accident to tho plaeo at which the body was found—a distance of fifteen ho would not havo been able to place a kit under his head. At to-day's sitting, tho driver and occupants of a taxi-cab, which passed tho locality on the night in question, stated that 'they neither saw tho man nor felt any shock. An open verdict was returned.

He has no relatives in the Dominion.
