e-_ Tho ninth annual meeting of tho AVcllington Engineers was held at tho Mount Cook Unit Hull last evening, Lieutenant Gibbs presiding. There was a good attendance of members. In presenting tlio annual report, Lieutenant Gibbs stated that the corps was now in a satisfactory position, and in a lair way to being one of tho strongest and most llcurishing f in tlio Dominion. Last year -11 men earned capitation; this year the number had increased to 61. The annual camp was carried out in a very satisfactory manner. Tho change of site, although some- distance from town, was very convenient for tlio work carried out. Deep regret was expressed by the telegraph section of the company at tlio loss of Stail'-Ser-geant-Major Parrell, their instructor. Tho company was represented during tho year at tlio Garrison Signallers' Club's Shield Competition, and was successful in winning second ami third place in the semaphore and Morse, competitions respectively. A handsome cup had been presented t) tho company by cx-Caplaiu and Mvs. Holmes. Tlio cup carried with it a medal for the most efficient man in each section. This was without a doubt tho means of encouraging tho company's efficiency, md tho thanks ot tho corps were duo to the donors. Lioutcuant-Colonol Banchop inspected tlio corps during the year, and expressed satisfaction at the marked improvement shown. Arrangements were now being made to sunvly tho company with blue forogo caps (now pattern), and it was hoped they would bo to hand in a couple of months.
