Riotous ECCIIO3 wero witnessed at York on a recent Sunday in connection with the Kon.sit gathering. An enormous crowd gathered in Exhibition Square, and air attack was made on a small band of WyclifTo Preachers, who have for some days been denouncing in vigorous terms the alleged Romanism of the Archbishop. Their platform was rushed and smashed, their banner torn to ribbons, and stones and pieces of wood used as missiles. A largo bodv of police, summoned by telephone, rescued the preachers from tho hands of tho crowd, though not before they had been badly mauled. Ono named Forguson was so seriously kicked that he fainted. A crowd of six thousand pooplo followed tho Wycliflo Preachers to the police station, whero they .were taken, for safety,
