AFTER DEATH.
1 In the January issue of the "Hibbert Journal," Mr.' Gerald Balfour discusses the communications purporting to come from the late F. W. Myers. He concludes that theso are either— (1) what they purport to bo, or (2) due to tho directive agency of the secondary self of one or more of tho automatlsts. Principal John Graham, discussing the same subject under tho title "New Facts on Our Survival of Death," makes this extraordinary statement as to the rovelations mado by "Myers" and "Hodgson" since their deaths. They "declare that they are very much more alive- than they woro on earth that they are not really dreaming, that thev would not desire to come back again and that they aro still, nevertheless, in possession of much at any rato of tho 'memories and attachments of earth. They say that they are still almost as far as wo are from tho innermost Presenco and Counsel of God but they confirm tho claims and sanctions of the religious life. They stato that a period of unconsciousness, varying in length, supervenes upon death—a period unusually prolonged in Myers's case; and that after a few years—say half a dozen—tho spirit moves in its development too far from earth lifo to have any further communication with it Doubtless there are numerous exceptions to this; and wo gather," concludes Principal Graham, "that Myers himself is ■voluntarily staying near us for tho sako of tho sorvico of our faith."
