Mr. Wickes, the British Board of Trado representative, met tho Chamber of Commerce, nnd urged the necessity of fostering British interests. The object of his mission to Australia, he said, was, largely, to promote exchange of tho raw for tho manufactured article. Mr. Wickes added that ho was confident that there would bo a big expansion in trade between England and Australia.
