NOT NICE FOR MALE CLERKS.
During the hearing of a matter in the Bankruptcy Court (says a Sydney paper) a young lady was examined as a witness. She had acted as shorthand-writer and typist, and latterly as secretary in a largo limited company in the city. Her evidenco was given 'in such a clear aad able manner, and she showed such a grasp of figures and expressed herself with such conciseness, as to evoke from tho Registrar the remark that if she was a fair sample of tho female clerk ho coold quite understand how 'the male clerk was being ousted. Mr. W. H. Palmer, oflicial assignee, concurred, and stated that tho witness, in bis opinion, was qujto tho ablest female clerk that had ever appeared before the -Court, and ■ far in ad- ■ vanco of tho ordinary malo clerk.
