RENTS AT MARANUI.

Sir, I noticed in your issuo this morning n reported statement inado by Mr. \V. F. Jiggers, wliilo giving evidence before tlio Arbitration Court that rents at Maraimi bad gono down 40 per cent. I wish to givo this statement a flat contradiction, as it is entirely contrary to fact. There has been no reduction in rent during tlio past tlirco years, except in the case of one or two undcsirablo residences. As a statement of this kind, if allowed to go unchallenged, is calculated to damage the interests of pro-perty-owners, I would ask you to publish this letter.—l am, etc., W. H. MORRAH. March 19.
