THE POLLARDS IN VAUDEVILLE. The Pollard Opera Company, now appearing in vaudevillo at tko Opera House, cliangoa the programmo last evening. Among tho many clever young artists none .was more popular tlian Mr. Charles Albert, whoso versatility as r. comedian and dexterity as eccentric, dancer give bright promise of a successful stage career. One of the prettiest turns of the evening was tho duet "It's a Lovely Day for a Walk," in which he was partnered with Miss Minnie Topping. This bright duet and dance was introduced with some smart patter, in which Mr. Albert was particularly happy. Tho accompanying danco was as good as anything seen in Wellington for a. long time. Mr. Albert also song tho mock serenade "Tho Cockney Coon," and was heartily encored for his female impersonation. Miss Minnie Topping repeated her succoss, "The Land of Nod" (with coon ballet). Miss Cissio O'Keefo exercised her vigorous contralto voice in "While You Aro Mine" and "Down in tho Deep," and Miss Ethel Hems, another excellently-tutored contralto, sang artistically. Mr. Jock Willis extracted somo questionable amusement out of a whisky bottle, in which he dragged in the members of the orchestra, but redeemed himself in "Jean of Aberdeen," in which lilt the singer was well received. Little Alma Aldous r.nd Master Dentice acted quaintly in tho duet "Good-bye,'' and Trixio Ireland displayed her limber qualities in tho dance attached to the "Dreamland" ballad. Among tho most pleasing items was tho Japanese chorus r.nd ballet from "Tho Gay Hussar," bnd tho energetic ballet danced by Misses Cheal, Cruickshanks, Foy, and Lacy. Miss Clarice Buckman, Miss Ivy Aldous, Miss Gertie Edmonds, and Mr. Ernest Schatz also contributed to tho programme, which was brought to a close by the "Doll Ba.Uet," from "Bluebell in Fairyland."
